SOPHIE - LA MADAMME SHINE

This is my most recent work that I have done! I was inspired by words of a stylist from this year’s LONDON FASHIONWEEK, who told me: i wear M.A.C super lickable lipstick, and IN 2010 – IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SHINE!

I’m very happy that I could convince my sister, Sophie, to be my model for that artwork. As we were talking about that project on the phone, I’ve told her that it would probably take me two hours to do that on her … my god, I was so wrong!! All in all took us six hours, from the first steps of painting the underground till the final pictures.
A very BIG THANK YOU to my lovely sister, for being so patient and so talented!! By the way…isn’t she just BEAUTIFUL!!!!

THE BEAUTY–ISSUE .. A SELF-PORTRAIT

This project is a self-portrait concerning about today’s handling of beauty surgeries. Didn’t it turn out like that, that we are going to the plastic surgeon in our lunch break, like we go to get some sandwiches? Plastic surgery isn’t just a phenomenon anymore, plastic surgery turned out to become national sport for those who can afford the costs, and for those who can’t…well, there is something called “credit”, that you can get at each bank around the plastic surgeon’s corner, right?!

ONCE YOU GO BLACK - YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK

That black beauty was just catching my lens at the World Bodypainting Festival, whyle i was talking with my friend on the phone...and i was lost for words. I think that guy, a bodypainting model from the UK just sparked my fire for dark skin. Even the fact that he was wearing a G-String couldn't turn me off...funnyly enough it turned me on..all the combination was perfect - and the way he presented himself...well - just take a look at my snapshots!! PASSION IS THE SECRET

Don’t we all have our little secrets, our passions which we try to hide from others? Some are hiding their vibrators in their “goody box” that is looking as unspectacular as possible. Others hide their weed in places you would never expect. Some of us decant their hard liquor into juice bottles not to show anyone their passion…or even addiction. It is something that we hide, maybe it is, because we are ashamed to admit our personal weakness that’s deep in our souls, or we huggermugger those things simply to celebrate that passion just for ourselves. Some people are hiding ridiculously ordinary things…but hey…it’s their passion that they want to keep it to themselves.
I, for example, know a really cute guy from New York …I call him “Chocolate-Boy” who is hiding his chocolate bars in his underwear drawer. I bet it makes him feel relieved to know that if he wakes up in the middle of the night, sweaty all over from a nightmare, or just hungry cause of a hot and steamy night, greedy for sugar, that there is a secret place, that no one knows, where he can satisfy his hunger for chocolate.
So, when sun goes down, and all cats are grey, we are all crawling out of our daily life to indulge our passion…those things that we hide from others. Xx Armin G.

VINTAGE-BOY

VINTAGE BOY is my latest project. To be honest-it is my very first one, where I’ve created everything…from the first vision to the final picture. As my passion is photography and make-up, I couldn’t help myself to turn my friend Manfred into a mixture of Audrey Hepburn and Andy Warhol with those brilliant vintage sunglasses from the 70’s, the lips made from silver glitter, the pale make-up and the fantastic costume originally from the 70’s. I’m glad that Manfred felt that vibe that I wanted to have in those pictures without explaining too much to him…he just did a great job! xx Armin G.
